Medication concerns?

If someone has bi-polar and aren't taking their medication, is the anti-depression medicine Paxil ok to take? Will that have any bad side effects for them if they take it or could it help?
Answer:
Only your Doctor should advise you about what medications to take. He/She is the one who fully can access your situation and diagnose you.
i think Paxil could help with some of the symptoms of bipolar. it won't be as effective as your normal medication obviously. but you should really talk to your doctor to make sure you wont have any bad side effects, or maybe to get more bipolar medication.
NEVER... EVER... EVER... Self Medicate!

Go see your doctor!
Paxil is a very nasty drug.

I had a friend on Paxil, and he had these horrible outbursts of anger against himself and others. And he didnt suffer from that before.

It is also known to cause suicidal thoughts in people under 25.
Anti-depressants DO NOT help bipolar. I just read an article on it.
Why would they not take their Lithium but would take Paxil? Lithium is prescribed precisely for Bipolar from what I hear...
Prozac is better. But the best thing is to be under a doctors care so you dont run out of meds.
