Yeah you probably wont be able to get one nor should you be able to get one. If you have a mental disorder you cant purshase a firearm so NO!

i dont think its a good idea for someone with depression to try to purchase a fire arm.

You should be able to purchase a fire arm as long as no doctor has ever checked a "danger to himself or others" box for your depression. Do you really want a gun though?
No. It only prevents people who have been COMMITTED to a hospital from obtaining a gun.
If you have never been committed by a judge, then no problem.
