Answer:
I would talk to a psychiatrist to be sure. But I would say you may be able to increase the dosage, on your current med. Or you may need to try another SSRI.

Good Luck. Hope This Helps
I would go and talk to your GP - there's loads of drugs that have come out in recent years that might suit you better, but only your doctor would be able to tell you what. Sorry
consult a herbalist or visit a Health Food Shop %26 ask about Herbal alternatives for Prozac.
there's more than 1 way 2 control depression.
plenty of very old reliable herbal remedies that are better for you.
st johns wort is 1 %26 it has been used for thousands of years to ease depression.
Next best thing is private therapy.
trust your GP
I agree with Natalie.
There are so many different ones out there. Lexapro is very helpful.
I have to wonder though, what has happened to make you feel bad again.
Situation in life changed??
When's the last time you had a complete physical?
Do you exercise at all? No it's definitely not a cure-all, but it does help.
See your doc. God Bless
Like with every drug that's taken over a long period, you're going to have to go through a down period before you get up again. Take each day as it comes and find things that you can focus on that will make you happy. Whether it being starting a new hobby, meeting with friends or family, or aiming towards a dream that you've always wanted to achieve. You don't need any drug to make you happy, you've just become dependent on them that's all. Please don't give up and just look forward to the next chapter of your life that you'll be able to live. You can do anything you want to so keep at it and you'll soon change. Another thing you could look into is your diet. Make sure you're eating healthy fresh foods as junk food can also add towards bad moods. Exercise would also be good for you as your body releases endorphins which make you happy! Best of luck :)

I've just seen that a lot of people are suggesting higher doses or other drugs! Don't listen to them. That will only make things better in the short term which isn't what you need. You need to learn to live without relying on drugs otherwise you're not in control of your life. It's a scary place to be but you must gain control without drugs, therapy is a much better method.
you might have to change your medicine, or add another one to it.talk to your doctor. i started out with zoloft,2 years later he added wellibupron, and klonpin for nerves.sometimes theyjust have to try different kinds to get it right. i have major depression. but all together the meds. work. i have been hospitalised 4 times because, i had to get my meds. straightend out.
Honestly, I think the best thing would be a good diet, lots of vitamins, and a lot of exercise (at least one looong walk daily)

Since your body is used to having the drugs suppress the problem instead of actually handling it, you need to work on handling it for good. Eating healthy and taking vitamins (as well as getting lots of sleep) will help you feel better and more able to handle situations without the help of drugs. Taking a walk or a run outside will help you expand your awareness of things around you so your attention isn't always being drawn inwards.
You could try either Xanex (I think that's how it is spelt), or Frisium. Also, as others have suggested, go out walking or some type of exercise as it really does help. I find that if you keep your mind busy %26 occupied, you will feel much better.
why don't you try relying on yourself to make you happy rather that a pill, otherwise you'll just be searching for pills for the est of your life and what happens when you can't find that pill.
I was on prozac aswell and it did help loads, all of a sudden though my councillors and pcychologists left me.i never heard no more contact sinse, and because of my illness im the type of person who doesn't go crawling back, they abused my trust.so now i aint on prozac either.Luckily i haven't been rock bottom with out it,i came off them mainly bacause i was about to start taking pills for my weight and they wouldn't have agreed with prozac. There is stronger anti-depressents then prozac so ask your psychologist or doctor etc if you can gradually change to one of them as you dont feel prozac is working any more.Prozac is one of the weaker anti-depressents,but usually helps with treatment such as cognitive behaviour therapy.Good luck.
Sorry I alwauys thoughtthat Prozac was effective in perpetuity
I am not on it at the moment ,but i do hope that it will work again when i need to go back on it which with depression anxiety is not an if but when.

Perhaps give yourself a sabatical and make up your mind that you will go back on it at a certain date , you perhaps know by this time your depression cycle .

as far as recomending something isnt there something that you want to do something that came to you whilst you were on medication?
Cant you get to the real root of your depression tablets suppress in the long run surely exercise is good long brisk walks that's what i do when I'm feeling down there again its easy to say things so i hope you get on OK what ever you do
I think its time you went back to your doctor and told him you are feeling unhappy maybe he can give you some other drug that will help.
coming down off Prozac will do this for months so why not ask you GP for 10 mg Diazepam that should hold you steady
