Lithium...?

My husband is taking Lithium will it have any effect on him trying to get me pregnant and will the baby have any medical issues if he is taking but not me?

(I don't take any medications)
Answer:
I've given lithium to hundreds of patients as a Mental Health Nurse and have seen no bad results. One of the uses for Lithium is for Bipolar Disorders (aka: manic depression). Their should be no problem since HE is taking it. You do not need to take it during a pregnancy, Even if there are other uses for Lithium, there still should be No ill consequences. Good luck S. It should not interfere with trying to conceive
It will not interfere with developing baby
it might effect his libido which could make getting pregnant a little troublesome, but beyond that, it's relatively safe.
